When I first got Frank (my Mac book, for new readers) my friend, Fabio was kind enough to take away my external hard drive (which he named Paprika) and load her up with loads of lovely programmes for Frank as well as about 400 films that he’s collected over the years.
I regularly plugged Paprika in with the intention of watching a film and then became overwhelmed by how long and often unidentifiable the list is and I ended up watching something I’d already seen 20 times. What a waste! I figured there must be some absolute gems on there that I just hadn’t bothered to uncover. So I made a resolution, one bank holiday weekend to watch every single one of the films on that hard drive that I hadn’t already seen in alphabetical order, with no excuses.
After the first 6 or so months Frank broke and then Paprika broke but I decided to keep film study alive through the cinema, Tesco DVD rental and just whatever was on the telly…

Ah so this is the explanation for it – I checked out your Blog but wasn’t sure if it was a personal quest or a film class or something. Either way, I was going to say that I have a bunch of old films (BIG Cary Grant fan here), so was going to say that if any interested you, we could try to arrange a night to sit and watch something. I have quite a few Hepburn/Bogart/Monroe/etc. films, so hopefully if I can get sorted into a new place, I can work out what I’ve got.
